Historical Celebration

Cristina & Jose, Barcelona
Wedding, November 22nd, 2014 - 315 guests

Jose and Cristina married in an intimate ceremony attended only by the closest family. Both of Catalan origin, they wanted to offer to the remaining part of their family and many friends a real party that was attended by over 300 guests. The venue chosen for the celebration was the newly renovated space Hospital de Sant Pau in Barcelona. It was the very first wedding organized at this site since it is available for events. On arrival guests were welcomed by a glass of cava and some actors walking on stilts indicating and illuminating with their bodies and balancing acts the way to the area where the aperitif was set. Once there, they were entertained by interacting actors and live-music. Being not very traditional, the couple decided to change the classical "grooms entry" for 8 pairs of actors dressed as wedding couples and dancing like in the movie "The Thomas Crown Affair". From the traditions of a classic banquet also disappeared cake cutting, offering gifts or the first dance. Instead they preferred confetti, dancers amidst the banquet and a saxophonist. Julio Torres, DJ from Madrid, entertained much of the nightlife.

The complete design and decoration of this wedding was performed by Yes I Do. As the banquet was held in a pavilion that was not yet completely refurbished, a special license had to be requested for organizing the wedding. Fire extinguishers, emergency lights and even bathrooms had to be integrated into the new room. It was an event that involved including set-up, celebration and disassembly three days of work by the team of Yes I Do for creating a wonderful autumn night. We leave you a picture of what was the before and after of this magical November, 22nd.
